iPhone errors while trying to copy photos from DCIM folder to computer
Date Added: 1/14/2020

Apple added a new feature to iOS that causes errors when you are transferring photos from your iPhone to your computer via USB cable. The feature is supposed to automatically convert, as you copy them, from the original file to a more PC-compatible file. In my experience, this is a disaster because if you try to copy 100 files at once, it may copy a dozen and then randomly give an error and fail to copy the rest. Some files even seem to be corrupted.

To fix the problem, simply turn that feature off so that copying files from the DCIM folder doesn't try any tricks; it just copies the original file as expected.

Settings > Photos > Keep Originals (under the "TRANSFER TO MAC OR PC" section)
