PROBLEM: I'm trying to delete a service but keep getting errors. When I try to delete the service from the command line using sc delete SERVICENAME, I get the error The specified service has been marked for deletion. Even deleting the registry key doesn't work. SOLUTION: Close all copies of mmc, including services.msc. Then run the sc delete command again, and it will work immediately without requiring a reboot.
