Allow choosing Home/Pro during Windows 10 install
Date Added: 8/12/2016

When you install Windows 10 from a bootable USB drive (or CD), it normally will decide on its own which edition to install. If you want to select for yourself Home or Pro, then do this:

Create a text file named ei.cfg and put it on your flash drive (or in your ISO to burn onto a new CD) in the Sources folder. Be sure Windows doesn't invisibly append .txt to the end. Next, paste the following two lines of text inside that ei.cfg file:
[Channel]
Retail

Finally, save the file and boot from your new installer, and you'll eventually get to a screen where you can choose Home or Pro. This will force the installer to use the selected Edition.
